Levels of Hypnotherapy Certification
Part 5: What are the different levels of Hypnotherapy Certification? Why are they important to know about?
Each certification is a designation that indicates that the hypnotherapist has received the necessary training and testing to properly perform the skill set required by that level of certification.
There are many special certifications one can pursue as well. There are three main certification I will discuss in this article Certified Hypnotherapist, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapist.
Certified Hypnotherapist
I discussed in detail the basic requirements by most state-licensed schools is 200 hours. Each school may vary from 200 up to 300 hours. This level of certification signified that the person has passed a certain exam level and contains the necessary knowledge necessary to place someone into hypnosis.
Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist
There is an additional 100 hours of training to work in the capacity as a clinical hypnotherapist. Additional areas of work include pain management, stress reduction, working with more deepening levels of hypnosis, child birth, and other psychosomatic related issues.
Certified Transpersonal Hypnotherapist
This area of hypotherapy is more related to spiritual side of life. It works with concepts such as past-life regression work, life between life work, death and grieving work, It also works with hypnotic meditation and other more metaphysical aspects of life. I received an additional 100 hours of training in this are of certification.
Special Certifications
Like anything else today, one can achieve other certifications such as a Certification in Hypnobirthing and Gastric Band Hypnotherapy. These are very specific subjects that require additional safety and clinical information as well as hypnotherapy techniques.
I hope this information is extremely useful to you in learning more about hypnotherapy and how it can change your life. Choosing a hypnotherapist that you connect to on a personal level is also part of the key process in your decision making process.
